AASB S2 CLIMATE REPORTING SUPPORT FOR FINANCE & RISK TEAMS

Your Partner for AASB ESG Reporting Compliance in Australia

Understand your reporting position, identify evidence gaps and plan the work needed for climate disclosures. ESG Impact supports readiness assessments, emissions data, climate risk analysis and disclosure preparation, with scope agreed around your organisation and reporting cycle.

COMPLIANCE IS NOW MANDATORY

In Australia, the landscape of ESG reporting is rapidly evolving, driven by regulatory changes and growing expectations from stakeholders. AASB ESG-related standards now require organisations to disclose practices transparently and accurately.

OUR EXPERTISE

Four workstreams to organise your reporting

Readiness review: review your reporting timetable, current disclosures and available information. Receive a gap register, accountable owners and a prioritised reporting plan.

Emissions evidence: define the inventory boundary and review energy, fuel and other activity records. Receive a documented methodology, data gap register and supporting evidence index. For a first reporting year, Scope 1 and Scope 2 work can be prioritised where the applicable Scope 3 relief is available.

Climate risk and scenarios: assess relevant assets, locations, business activities and existing risks. Receive a documented assessment of physical and transition risk, scenario assumptions and limitations.

Disclosure preparation: organise reviewed information into draft disclosures and coordinate management comments. Receive drafts, a review log and a handover identifying unresolved matters.

A Clear Process

01.

What we need from your team

Useful starting information includes your group structure, reporting period, existing reports, relevant policies, asset locations and available emissions records. We agree the detailed data request after scoping the work so your team knows what is needed and who should provide it.

02.

How an engagement starts

We discuss your reporting position and priorities, review the information already available and agree the work required. The proposal sets out responsibilities, deliverables, dependencies and review arrangements. Timing is agreed around your reporting cycle and the availability of client information.

03.

Reporting support & independent assurance

Our role is to help prepare and organise reporting information. Management remains responsible for its disclosures and judgements. Independent assurance, where required, is a separate engagement with the appointed assurance provider.

04.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can you review an existing reporting plan?
Yes. We can review the work already completed, identify gaps and agree targeted support rather than restarting the entire process.

  • Can you work with our finance team and assurance provider?
We can coordinate the preparation workflow with your team and respond to information requests within the agreed scope. The assurance provider retains responsibility for its independent conclusions.

  • What happens when data is incomplete?
We identify missing records, document available methods and assumptions, and prioritise collection or improvement actions. Limitations remain visible in the supporting records.

  • Can you help suppliers responding to customer requests?
We can scope a proportionate response to customer information requests. A request from a customer does not, by itself, establish that your organisation has a statutory reporting obligation.
